This is one of my favorite tunes from my first album “Grandmother's Tea Leaves”. I will never forget how Eric B. and I mixed the studio version together at Stanford U. so long ago… four hands on the board (Eric, here you finally get your due credit as “assistant engineer”!). This full-band version is a totally different brew - the Lady Grey to Darjeeling transformation! I added a short bridge to take the place of the vocal choral extravaganza on the album and Morris adds a beautiful and elegant guitar solo.

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis.

Ah, why didn't I buy this earlier? Has been on my wishlist since it's release and Bad Elephant Music's sampler and ongoing sales campaign luckily triggered the buy. Tags given are post-progressive and post-rock, but the music feels much lighter than I usually associate with those tags. Quite song-oriented, indeed. Great music, great vocals.
